I have had the privilege of running (and winning) the DONNA 110 ultramarathon for the past three years now. While the question of why anyone would want to run 110 miles certainly has no simple answer, the question of why I run THIS particular race is very easy: To me, DONNA is the perfect race. The course is gorgeous, highlighting some of our best beach towns and neighborhoods. The weather is always ideal for fast running. The crowd support is passionate and unbelievable. But most of all, for me, it is about the DONNA mission to finish breast cancer, a disease that has struck my family particularly-hard over the years. The “suffering” one endures during a 110-mile run is nothing compared to what those who battle breast cancer face on a daily basis. I’m proud to be associated with the race, and plan to run DONNA for many more years to come! I can’t wait to see everyone next year for Year Ten of the 26.2 With DONNA Marathon!!!
