Crossing your finish was one of the most amazing experiences that I’ve endured as a runner. The Donna Race is one of the most inspirational and meaningful races that I’ve ran. I started running 5 years ago and have finished six Marathons, including Boston in 2013 and at least a dozen Half’s. I decided to sign up for The Donna Half after talking to my brother in-law Brian Broyles, who moved to Florida on Amelia Island and has ran the Donna Marathon twice. He shared with me how inspirational the race is and that I should come visit northern Florida to run it. I have a friend and co-worker who is a breast cancer survivor. She is an amazing woman who fought hard to beat cancer. She loves to run as well and has a family with two beautiful children. I crossed the finish line in Honor of Dawn Trescone-Forgacs.
Thanks so much for everything. I continue to relive the finishing line moment and run strong in honor of all survivors of cancer.
