EVENT ALERT SYSTEM

EAS Status for Marathon Sunday is GREEN

A color-coded Event Alert System (EAS) will be used to communicate the status of course conditions to participants leading up to and on race day. The levels range from Low (green) to Moderate (yellow) to High (red) to Extreme (black) based primarily on the weather, as well as other conditions.

The DONNA Medical Director and Meteorologist Tim Deegan along with the rest of the Race Communications team, will determine and execute the specific alert level on race day.

E-mail, Facebook, Twitter and website communication during race week will inform participants of the current Event Alert System status and provide preparation tips based on advance weather forecasts.

Updates will be made at the DONNA Expo via public address announcements.

On race day, the current Event Alert System status will be communicated via public address announcements and color-coded signs/flags at the start and finish areas, and along the course at aid station locations.

All participants should familiarize themselves with the Event Alert System prior to the race, remain alert for directions from race officials and announcers and take precautions to prepare properly for varying weather conditions on race day.

Dogs, Pets & Strollers – Event Safety Policy

To ensure the safety of all participants, spectators, volunteers, and first responders, the following policies are in place for DONNA Marathon Weekend:

Dogs & Pets

  • Dogs and pets are not permitted on any race course or within controlled event areas, including start and finish zones, the Athletes’ Village, the DONNA Health & Wellness Expo, medical areas, and aid stations.

  • Pets are not allowed on event shuttle transportation.

  • Service animals are permitted in accordance with applicable laws and event procedures.

  • Spectators who choose to watch from public, non-controlled areas may do so with a pet only if the animal is leashed at all times and kept well clear of the race course and event operations.

These guidelines reflect standard road-race safety practices and help maintain clear access for runners, volunteers, emergency personnel, and equipment.

Strollers

  • Strollers are permitted for Saturday events only, including the FIS DONNA 5K and the DONNA Dash.

    • Participants using strollers must start at the back of the field or in designated stroller areas.

    • Strollers must remain to the right, avoid weaving, and yield to runners and walkers.

  • Strollers are not permitted for Sunday events, including the National Half Marathon and Marathon to Finish Breast Cancer and Pete’s Bar DONNA Crawl.

Due to larger field sizes, narrower roadway sections, and the need to maintain emergency vehicle access, strollers cannot be safely accommodated on Sunday courses.

Strollers are always welcome in Runners’ Village and on our race shuttles.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us create a safe and positive race weekend for everyone.
